With production on Fox hit 24 delayed due to the now-squashed writer's strike, deodorant brand Degree, Story Worldwide and MindShare have made up for lost time by launching a similarly-styled web series within the Fox.com banner called The Rookie.

Initially launched late last year in two installments as "Day 1" and "Day 2", the series returned this past month for six more weekly webisodes, which follow CIA counterintelligence agency Jason Blaine--a cross between 24 hero Jack Bauer and Jason Bourne.

In this latest group of chapters, which begins on day three of Blaine's mission, he and his crew are on the prowl for a Mexican drug kingpin. Each chapter is just a few minutes long with decent production value, though there are other links and distractions on the site that houses the show, including behind-the-scenes clips, character profiles, Degree product info, a sweepstakes entry to win a Hummer H3 and even full, streaming episodes from season 1 of 24.
