Discovery tapped Campfire bring the online crowd into the scare of a massive viral outbreak, as part of its promotion for season two of The Colony. On the program, a group of volunteers are left stranded in a (simulated) post-apocalyptic environment. This time the survivors are challenged to rebuild society after a tragic viral disaster. This social experiment taps into users' Facebook account to draw them into the outbreak scare via newsfeed, online videos, galleries, news stories and various media updates.
