This Unbelievable Love Story Is a Deodorant Ad

Dove's Amazing Tale Provides Perfect Opportunity to Demonstrate Its Product

Editor's Pick

In Dove's latest tug on our heartstrings, the brand introduces us to a charming young woman named Louisa, who recounts her days growing up in Germany as a tomboy who had a huge crush on the mohawked, spiky-haired band member in a poster that hung in her room. Fast forward ten years, when she's living in Los Angeles and bumps into a man in her apartment complex who turns out to be that very guy she had a crush on.

The two hit it off, become best friends and a couple, but that's not even the most surprising part of the tale, which culminates in a high-pressure sweat-inducing milestone for Louisa--which is where the connection to the brand's clinical strength deodorant comes in.

The film was created out of Ogilvy & Mather and was directed by O Positive's Peyton Wilson, who manages to portray the sweetness of the unbelievable story with restrained grace.
