On Saturday, advertising lost one of its heroes with the passing of David Abbot, the lifelong copywriter who co-founded celebrated London agency Abbott Mead Vickers with Peter Mead and Adrian Vickers in 1977. One of Mr. Abbott's most famous pieces of work was an ad for The Economist, which simple stated in white type against a red background: " 'I never read The Economist.' --Management Trainee, Aged 42."

Droga5 Sydney paid tribute to the creative legend by tweaking the ad, this time, with Mr. Abbott as the subject.
