For a new Gallo offering called Red Bicyclette — not the potentially intimidating Bicyclette Rouge — Grey has produced eye-catching art that doubles as a wine label and an outdoor ad, with a design that strives to be quintessentially French without being quintessentially snooty. "All creative decisions, from name and label, to color, design and copy, were rooted in the ultimate goal of introducing a friendly, approachable French wine in the U.S.," says AD Steve Krauss. "This is a market where most current offerings intimidate consumers rather than invite them to try something new. So we're capitalizing on people's positive associations with the French countryside, while keeping things simple and lighthearted." The illustration is by Annora Spence, www.annoraspence.com.
