Inside music.

Editor's Pick

Mother NY's work for eMusic, a music discovery and download site, is a series of short films that delve deeper into artists and albums. The first film in the series looks at artist M83's album, which was supposedly inspired by dreams. The film, appropriately, tests out the effects of the album's tracks on people's dreams. The second film looks at drum-machine artist AraabMuzik, who supposedly slices beats so quickly he transcends genres. A series of pop-science experiments try to put a handle on how fast, really, his music is. The films will continue next year, and Mother plans to add a live events exploration component as well.
