ESPN Says Get Ready for a 'New Sports/Holiday Tradition: Celebrate New Year's Eve With College Football Playoffs'

We know what you were thinking: There's no song more ripe for a remake than the New Year's standard "Auld Lang Syne."

OK, probably you weren't thinking that -- but apparently Jimmy Kimmel and the folks at ESPN and its agency Wieden & Kennedy, N.Y. were, judging from this ad that's meant to kick off what the network is calling "a brand new sports/holiday tradition: celebrating New Year's Eve with the College Football Playoff semi-finals."

You'll want to sing along -- but won't be able to (because all the lyrics have been changed) -- so instead watch for amusing cameo appearances by the likes of Tracee Ellis Ross, Robin Thicke, Antonio Cromartie, Ken Jeong, Josh Duhamel and Kelly Rowland.

ESPN wants you to plan ahead -- way ahead -- so it's using this spot to help put the word out that it'll be broadcasting and streaming the two semi-final games of the College Football Playoff on Dec. 31 (instead of Jan. 1).
