Instagram and Twitter Contest Gets Entrants Reliving Summer Memories

Expedia has jumped on social media's popular "Throw Back Thursday" hashtag and developed a summer campaign around it, encouraging people to relive their summer memories by re-creating old photos.

Now through September 1, people can enter Expedia's "#ThrowMeBack" photo contest via Instagram or Twitter for a chance to win a travel voucher. Users need to tag their "tbt" Instagram or Twitter photo with @Expedia and #ThrowMeBack. Winners are encouraged to use their travel voucher to go back to where their photo was taken and recreate it.

180 L.A. created the campaign, capitalizing on some 228 million "tbt" hashtags to date. The agency also released this video to promote it, featuring a family that travels back to Ocean Beach, San Diego, to recreate a photo taken in the '80s.
