As social media networks mature, the more they get nostalgic. Facebook already encourages to look back on our year every New Year's Day with a photo montage, and on our life since joining Facebook, and now, it's going to force us to look back nostalgically via our timeline with a feature called "On This Day."
Announced in a blogpost, "On This Day" shows content from today's date in the past. For example, you might see past status updates, photos, posts from friends and other things you've shared or been tagged in. Users will only see this unless they decide to share it with friends, so hopefully there will be no unwelcome blasts from the past.
Facebook is starting to roll out the feature globally, but as of now, it seems it doesn't yet work for all users. When we tried, for example, we hit a page saying, "Thanks for coming to check out your memories. Currently, this feature isn't available to everyone." But maybe you'll be a lucky one who can access it.
