Lonzo Ball Thanks His Dad for Years of Embarrassment in Footlocker's Father's Day Ad

You'll Be Surprised by What the NBA Draft Pick Is Grateful For

Foot Locker is celebrating Father's Day with soon-to-be NBA draft picks talking about their own dads. It starts out in typical sappy fashion, as De'Aaron Fox, from the University of Kentucky, talks about all the one-on-one games he played with his old man while Duke's Jayson Tatum says his dad never missed a game.

But then Lonzo Ball, whose father LaVar can't seem to keep out of the media spotlight, recalls "that big day when your dad berates your high school coach, in front of an entire crowd, for not getting you enough touches."

The spot, produced by BBDO New York, continues to cut between the other players and Ball, who dryly recalls more of his father's crazy antics -- telling Lonzo where he'll go to college, copyrighting his son's name to promote a brand, going on ESPN to argue with commentator Stephen A. Smith.

The spot debuted online today and will premier on broadcast on June 22 during the 2017 NBA Draft on ESPN.
