Ford compiles a montage of Snapchat-style clips to show, with some light-hearted humor, how we are all really athletes, in this sports-themed spot that broke during the Olympic opening ceremony.
The brand is not an official Olympic sponsor, but the ad aims to convey the spirit of the Games, name-checking sports like gynmastics (with a man swinging round a pole in a subway carriage), weightlifting (a waitress lifting two heavy trays), wrestling (a woman getting a baby out of a car seat, and a guy struggling to control his dog), and synchronized diving (a couple dancing). "We are all athletes, and we are all fans," it pronounces before ending on the slogan "Life is a sport. We are the utility."
The ad is part of the automaker's aggressive move into Snapchat, after opening its first account on the platform last week.
