Gatorade's Virtual Reality Experience Throws You Into Sweaty Shoes of J.J. Watt

Campaign Uses Google Cardboard and Also Includes Films Featuring Usain Bolt, Serena Williams

It's no longer enough for viewers' sporting heroes to appear in ads -- now, they actually get to be them too.

The latest online experience for Gatorade lets people experience what it's like to be NFL player J.J. Watt in 360 degrees or virtual reality. They can do this either using Google Chrome on their desktop, a YouTube app or Google Cardboard and a smartphone. The experience, produced by New York creative content studio Acres, shows the action from Watt's viewpoint as he works out in the gym, does drills on the field and rolls tires in a parking lot. It's so realistic you can almost imagine you're Watt wiping the sweat off his face.

Other films in the series include videos made from the viewpoint of Usain Bolt and Serena Williams.
