Editor's Pick

GE continues its campaign honoring female scientists, which has included two TV spots, with an installation at New York's Grand Central Terminal in which it pays tribute to science's "Unseen Stars."

From yesterday through Sept. 21, animations of 12 female scientists and engineers will appear on the famous ceiling using laser projection mapping technology and based on the constellations. Passers-by will be encouraged to capture selfies with the people featured and special geofilters and Facebook frames will be available.

The women being honored include Millie Dresselhaus, the first women to win the National Medal of Science, and who previously featured in GE's Oscars ad; GE engineers Danielle Merfeld and Sudha Maniam; astronomer Vera Cooper Rubin and the first female U.S. Chief Technology Officer, Megan Smith.
