Editor's Pick

Launched at SXSW, GE Garages is a year long project by GE and design company Sub Rosa showcasing the latest in design and manufacturing tools and aiming to capture the essence of the 'Maker' movement. The mobile lab demonstrates creative/personalization products such as laser cutters, 3D printers, metal inert gas welders, computer numeric control mills and more, with professionals on hand to help teach you how to use them. The idea is that consumers can gain exposure to the latest technologies as the lab travels to various US locations in 2012 . Contributors to the programming of Garages include teaching marketplace Skillshare, and manufacturing developers TechShop, Quirky, Inventables, Little Bits and Make.
