Barton F. Graf 9000 alum Eric Kallman has landed up at Goodby. And although it seems like he's bringing to his new employer his former agency's tradition of welcoming new hires in fun, kooky ways, Mr. Kallman says this hilarious film was all Goodby's idea.
The film is modeled closely after Dove's award-winning Real Beauty Sketches, where a forensic artist asked women to describe themselves and compared it with how others saw them.
Jeff Goodby, Rich Silverstein and Margaret Johnson appear in the film, describing the perfect creative director -- he has to have done work they wish they'd done, won awards for it, and so on. The result: A sketch of Mr. Kallman, who will join the shop Mar. 3 as a creative director and associate partner. Mr. Kallman will be working on the Sonic Drive-In and California Milk Processor Board accounts as well as helping to lead new business pitches.
The creative left Barton last November, after spending over two years at the agency, working on efforts for Kayak, DISH, Little Caesars and Ragu. Prior to that, he was at Wieden & Kennedy Portland, where he created "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like" campaign for Old Spice.
