Glass Explorer and WWF Researcher Sabita Malla Uses Glassware to Save Rhinos

Anomaly Creates Film About Conservation for Earth Day

Editor's Pick

To celebrate Earth Day, Google Glass and Anomaly collaborate on a beautiful film featuring WWF senior research officer Sabita Malla in the brand's latest Explorer Story. It shows Glass Explorer Ms. Malla out in the field, going about her work to save rhinos in the wild using Glassware like Field Notes to help in her study.

As Ms. Malla explains, conservation work often happens in environments not ideal for note-taking with pen and paper, so with custom-built Glassware like Field Notes, researchers at the World Wildlife Fund (which joined the program in October) are able to work hand-free, safely and accurately.

Today, Google also has opened up a challenge for U.S. nonprofits who want to get in on Glass -- five companies will get a pair, a training session, a $25,000 grant and developer access.
