Google's crowd-sourced film experiment Life in a Day culminates in a Sundance screening, a rebroadcast tonight (outside of the U.S.) and a theatrical release later this year.

The Life in a Day Project aims to provide a glimpse of global humanity captured on a single day. Google partnered with The Last King of Scotland Director Kevin Macdonald and Ridley Scott on the project which asked people to capture their daily life on video on July 24, 2010.

The result: 80,000 videos submitted (4,500 hours worth) from 120 countries. Macdonald and editor Joe Walker cut the best selections into a 90-minute feature that premiered to positive reviews at Sundance.

Those outside the U.S. can see a rebroadcast January 28. The film is expected to be in theaters this summer. For now, a teaser here and more at the Life in a Day YouTube channel.
