Snoopy, Hello Kitty and Garfield Shave Their Heads to Support Cancer Awareness Month

Ogilvy Brazil's Campaign for GRAACC Taps Celeb Cartoons to Support Sick Kids

Editor's Pick

Snoopy, Hello Kitty, Garfield and many other popular cartoon characters have "shaved" their heads to honor April Cancer Awareness Month in Brazil, in this moving campaign created out of Ogilvy Brazil for Brazilian children's cancer hospital GRAACC. Last fall to honor National Childhood Cancer Day, the agency had created new versions of cartoons featuring the animated celebrities, san hair -- but the shows made no mention of the campaign. The effort generated much local attention, even the social media thumbs up from Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

The campaign has now gone broader to attract the support of more institutions and hospitals, featuring an extended cast of characters and a new behind-the-scenes video. Check out the print images and more on the campaign website, baldcartoons.com, where visitors can pledge their support.
