Harvard/MIT: EdX

Learn at Harvard and MIT, online.

Published on May 02, 2012

Editor's Pick

Take classes at Harvard and MIT, online, through EdX. The venture is a joint project between the two universities to let anybody with an internet connection take classes at those schools. Both are offering online versions of their courses to anybody wanting to be a part of it. Resources from both schools will be made available to people taking those courses, including video segments, feedback, quizzes and online labs.

The EdX platform will be offered as an open source software, in the hopes that other schools will also join in hosting their courses on it. The platform also has a research component: It will allow the schools to study how students learn and interact online, and improve their own courses.

Courses will be available by Fall this year.
