HeadBlade: The Shaving Helmet

Buzz cut

Editor's Pick

A helmet that can actually shave your head – real or a hoax? The web was abuzz with debate last week about this video clip, which purported to show a guy donning a specially invented helmet for a head shave. The clip was actually the work of shaving products firm HeadBlade, which hired Thinkmodo to create a viral marketing campaign that would spark conversations about head-shaving and increase their brand awareness.

The ad was filmed in one continuous take but using identical twin actors; hence the apparent transformation of the guy's head after the 'head shave'. Traffic to HeadBlade's site soared – with thousands of people actually trying to order the helmet.
