A summer ad campaign for London's Heathrow airport manages to capture, in a simple and gentle way, the sense of freedom you get when you turn on your "out of office" message at the airport.
The spot, by Havas London, depicts a mother and her family waiting in the airport lounge as she composes her automated email reply, which we hear her voice speaking as she taps on her phone. From her glance up at the sky outside the terminal window to the over-excitement of her kids, it's just a tiny moment in their lives, but is captured delightfully and authentically by director Tom Green of Stink, aided by "Moonlight"'s Oscar-nominated James Laxton as director of photography.
Soundtracked by Roots Manuva's "Fighting For," it should strike a chord with anyone with a busy job who suddenly slows down in that moment before a flight.
The ad is supported by a series of OOH executions shot by portrait photographer Christopher Anderson, best known for his shots of the likes of Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Bryan Cranston and Bernie Sanders. Each offers a glimpse into its protagonist's Out of Office message, spanning the likes of mini-breaks with partners, beach holidays with children, heading abroad meeting the daughter's new boyfriend or post-break-up, broken heart-mending getaways.
