Heinz Wants Brits to Choose Between Ketchup and HP Sauce

Social "Propaganda" Encourages People to Vote for Their Favorite

Heinz is hoping to stir up British passions about two of its iconic sauces, Tomato Ketchup and HP Sauce, with a U.K. social campaign encouraging people to vote for their favorite. The activity, by We Are Social, will include what the agency calls "light-hearted propaganda" on social media -- like pictures of bacon sandwiches and fry-ups -- asking which would taste better with the food. It's all aimed at driving people to a website, redvsbrown, where they can vote one way or the other with a chance of winning a year's supply of their favorite sauce. Meanwhile, radio stations Absolute Radio, Magic, Place and Kiss will also broadcast live discussions about the sauces.
