See Yourself as a Piece of Chocolate at Hershey's 3D Candy Printing Exhibit

Data from Exhibit Will Inform Future Product Ideas

Two of Creativity's favorite things -- chocolate, and 3D printing -- come together starting tomorrow, December 19, at Hershey's Chocolate World Attraction in Pennsylvania. At the new 3D chocolate printing exhibit, visitors will be able to see live 3D printing of both chocolate and sugar, as well as examples of finished products. They can also interact with a library of 3D graphics pre-loaded on iPads, and can even be scanned to see what they themselves would look like as a piece of 3D chocolate. Hershey's is using the exhibit for data-gathering purposes -- customers will be surveyed on customization options and product design to influence future products.

This, of course, is not the first branded 3D printing chocolate exhibit. To launch its Android OS Kit Kat in South Africa late last year, Google teamed with Nestle to host the "Chocnology" show, featuring 3D-printed sculptures from local artists.
