Except for a TV reporter who clearly missed some early physics classes, most assumed that the much-discussed and much-viewed Liquid Mountaineering viral was a marketing play of some sort.

The video depicts a group of sportsmen taking part in what appears to be a new extreme outdoor pursuit - running across the surface of a lake.

Hi-Tec, the sports apparel company (whose logo appears in the video) came clean a while back. Here, see who else gets credit for the stunt, which has drawn over four million views on You Tube.
