Video Booth Blasts Geneva Motor Show Visitors With Air From a Leaf Blower

Honda is giving Geneva Motor Show visitors the chance to experience the speed of the Honda Civic Type R and create a "race face" selfie in a specially-made video booth at the event.

Agency Lost Boys worked on the project with production company B-Reel, which created the booth in a London warehouse and took it to Geneva, where the show starts tomorrow. There, it will blast members of the public with a gust of wind representative of the speed of the Civic Type R, together with sounds and lights.

The technology utilizes a commercial leaf blower as well as an LED lighting rig, audio playback and video capture, all controlled using an Arduino. The experience will be filmed in super slow-motion and captured as a video that visitors can then share on their social channels. After the Geneva show, which runs until March 15, it will roll out at other events and exhibitions.

"Face blasting" is a familiar technique that has been used by photographers to create unusual portraits and has already been used in spots and on faces of adland's top creatives,.
