Ikea: A New Kind of Catalogue

Ikea just released this teaser of its 2013 catalog, which introduces a new element to the 62-year-old tome--interactivity. The furniture retailer tapped McCann-Erickson in August to re-imagine the printed pub, which goes out to about 211 million consumers worldwide. According to McCann Vice Chairman Andreas Dahlqvist, the agency aspired to bring "Ikea creativity" to the catalog itself. One of the catalog's new main features is an accompanying (soon to launch) visual recognition app that will bring its pages, and the offerings within, to life in the form of inspirational videos, designer stories, "x-ray” vision that peeks inside furniture, and more.
