The vogue for adult coloring books continues apace, and Ikea is the latest brand to jump on the bandwagon. The retail giant's U.S. arm has released some downloadable coloring pages so you can scribble away at geometric patterns containing chairs, bookcases, lighting and kitchen items and more to your heart's content. What's more, you can share your colorings on social media using the hashtag #ColorWithIKEA.
Presumably the idea is that you can muse on how to decorate that empty room while de-stressing and feeling mindful as you color between the lines. Or, since Ikea's head of sustainability recently announced that we have reached "peak furniture," this could be a lucrative new brand extension. "Think of it as interior decorating without the risk of having to buy new paint colors!" says Ikea cheerily in a blog post. Could customizable colored items be the future of furniture?
