Ikea Hopes to Declutter Your Communication With Meatball and Bookcase Emoticons

Funny Film From Lemz Depicts 'Deeper' Role of Retailer

Editor's Pick

Ikea has changed the way we think about furniture. And now the retailer is saying its emoticons could change your life too.

Or at least that's the message of this funny film from the Netherlands, by agency Lemz, promoting a real, downloadable set of Ikea emoticons. The cute symbols include iconic and instantly recognizable Ikea trademarks, like Swedish meatballs, the Klippan sofa and the Trofast kids' storage system. We also like the blurb on the iTunes store, that explains (like the film) that most misunderstandings in the home occur over clutter, so communicating by emoticon can help.
