Words of Long-Forgotten Soldiers Return Home in Touching Film from Aardman

Agency Johnny Fearless Joins Forces with Wallace and Gromit Creators for Animated Film

Editor's Pick

Wallace and Gromit creator Aardman Animation has joined forces with creative agency Johnny Fearless for this new ad for the International War Museum in London. The video, appropriately titled "Quotation Mark," promotes the First World War Galleries that are set to open July 19 to mark the WW1 centennial.

The animated film brings long-forgotten letters-- sent from Northern French battlefields -- to life. Aardman's signature style is in every frame as anthropomorphized quotes take flight across the English Channel to return home, unlike the military men who penned them. A moving track by Soviet Science serves as the perfect backdrop to the romanticism and symbolism of the powerful 90-second video.
