The project kicked off in March and has since asked artists who work with mediums as varied as sculpture, 3D animation and concept design to do-over art by Dali, Munch and Van Gogh, among others.
Dali's "The Persistence of Memory," for example, was remastered as a moving image, while Van Gogh's "Starry Night" was made into an interactive installation.
At the London Design Festival in September, a new piece of work will be unveiled. Conceptual artist Maxence Parache will re-imagine Matisse's "Dance" using Intel core processor technology and particle cloud projection.
Intel partnered with jotta, an art and design community that provides a platform for emerging artists, for the project. The projects are meant to showcase Intel's technology and how it can impact art. The event will take place from Sept. 22 to Sept. 25. All the current projects can be found on the Remastered website.
The effort is the latest in a line of efforts aligning Intel with the creative community, the most notable perhaps being its partnership with Vice on The Creators Project.
