A Messy Little Kid Has an Ulterior Move in Interflora's Father's Day Ad

Another Poignant Spot From Martin Werner and Brandhouse

Editor's Pick

In Interflora's new Father's Day ad from Denmark, a little kid suddenly develops a messy streak.

Like, really, really messy -- he tips ketchup all over himself, covers himself in mud, splashes blue paint all over his sweatshirt -- all in the course of what seems like a few days. In the process, he exasperates his single dad, who looks like the last thing he needs is a whole bunch of filthy laundry.

But, if you've been watching carefully, there's of course something very deliberate about the way this kid is going about it. It's not till the end that we finally find out what's going on as they head to the laundromat (but, if you're expecting a Nick Kamen/Levi's moment, this being Denmark, it's much more subtle than that).

Set to the poignant soundtrack of "No Matter' by Louise Alenius, the spot is the latest colllaboration beteween agency Brandhouse and director Martin Werner, who have together been responsible for some beautiful work like it's recent Jazz Age Valentine's Day story and the tragi-comic "Circus."
