Creatives Illustrate Gay Stereotypes in Poster Series

Artworks raise awareness of homophobic cliches

Same sex marriage may be slowly becoming a reality, but many people still have stereotyped views about gay people. James Kuczynski, art director at BBDO NY, takes ownership of such cliches in a silkscreen poster series A Guide to Gay Stereotypes. Portraying images such as Drag Queen, Butch and Bear, they're available to buy on Society 6 for $18 each. A portion of the proceeds go to the "Think B4 You Speak" campaign by the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN), also part of the AdCouncil, which raises awareness of the use of homophobic words and phrases such as "That's so gay," "Faggot" and "Dyke."
