Here's a Christmas Ad From Another John Lewis

Retailer's Namesake Gets in on the Act

John Lewis's Christmas ads are now world famous -- so it must have too tempting for a company that shares its name to put in its own effort. Local English kitchen firm John Lewis of Hungerford has done just that, with an ad that starts off looking as if it will bear the heartwarming hallmark of its namesake's advertising. A cute little girl is making cupcakes with her Dad in a gorgeous kitchen -- her sloppy green efforts look pretty amateurish compared to Dad's, but when her Mom comes home we're sure she's going to love them. The twist is, she doesn't -- and as she discards them for Dad's delicious cupcakes, the tagline "Imperfection Not Tolerated" comes up on screen.
