John Hillcoat Directs Johnny Cash's 'She Used to Love me a Lot' Music Video

Features Images of the Haves and Have-Nots

Editor's Pick

John Hillcoat directs the beautiful new music video for Johnny Cash's "She Used to Love Me a Lot," a track from the "lost" studio album "Out Among the Stars" that'll be available Mar. 25.

The video, which highlights the ever-widening gulf between the haves and have-nots, features shots of Wall Street and corporate America, juxtaposing them with close-up images of the weathered faces of the homeless and the under-privileged. There's also a shot of Mr. Cash's lakehouse in Nashville and a Tennessee cave where he went inside to commit suicide and then changed his mind last minute.

In an interview with the Guardian, Mr. Hillcoat mentions that he's a huge fan of Mr. Cash -- so much so that he "jumped" at the chance to direct the video for the track.
