Johnsonville Introduces the Santa Claus of Sausage, Carl the Great Bratsgiver

Because Meat Needs a Hero Too

August 16 was National Bratwurst Day, or, to some meat lovers, "Bratsgiving." Johnsonville honored the holiday this year by introducing a veritable patron saint of sausage fans, Carl, the Great Bratsgiver.

Dubbed the "Santa Claus of Bratsgiving," Carl stars in a series of YouTube films and surprised the audience at a Bratsgiving Day celebration at a local YMCA in Kansas City Missouri. There, guests enjoyed story time hearing "The Legend of Carl, the Great Bratsgiver" storybook, and got to pose with the Great Bratsgiver himself.

As part of the campaign, Johnsonville made a donation to help renovate the Y's kitchen as part of the facility's larger expansion plans.

The campaign was created out of Droga5, which also serves as agency for the YMCA.
