Nike's Jordan Brand has gone retro with an 8-bit inspired video game, "Striking Control," starring Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul.
The game, created by AKQA, features a chiptune remix of "Energy" created specially for the game by rapper Drake and Boi-1da. As players make their way through the game's stormy virtual cityscape, they unlock access to Jordan's new CP3.IX sneaker products. They can battle the competition by tweeting #StrikingControl and the lightning emoji to create their own in-game lightning bolts.
A life-sized, immersive version of the game debuted last weekend at the Kings of SoCal basketball tournament on Santa Monica Pier, with Chris Paul appearing to guide young players through the game as they used their own body movements to control his on-screen avatar. There was also an arcade console version of the game available for fans to play.
