KFC made a 'Kentucky Fine China' bucket for the Royal Wedding

Members of brand's 'Colonel's Club' loyalty scheme can win limited-edition tubs

According to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry proposed to her over a roast chicken dinner. While that's not exactly the same as a bucket of KFC, nevertheless the pair's poultry preference inspired the brand to come up with its own tribute to the Royal Wedding--a "Kentucky Fine China" version of its famous bucket.

Created by Iris Worldwide, the limited-edition bone china bucket has been handmade by English pottery manufacturer Milton China and also features a "22 carat burnished gold" rim. There are just 25 buckets, and they can be won by members of KFC's "Colonel Club" loyalty scheme in a competition running until this Sunday (May 20). Members can apply by downloading the Colonel's Club app.

To celebrate the Royal Wedding day itself, KFC will also be making 50 limited edition, specially-designed cardboard commemorative buckets available from its Windsor restaurant on Saturday.

While it's a fun stunt, KFC is steering clear of another Royal Wedding connection; Meghan's father Thomas was reportedly seen visiting both KFC and McDonald's during the ongoing furore this week over whether he will attend the wedding.
