Delicates Fight Regulars as Laundry Comes to Life in This LG Spot

MJZ's Carl Erik Rinsch Directs a Laundry Battle

Move over, the Sharks and the Jets. It's the Delicates and Regulars that face off in the street, via some clever VFX, in this spot for LG, promoting its Twin Wash system.

The spot -- which highlights that with the new machine, you can put on a delicate and a regular wash at the same time -- has the laundry come to life without human bodies inside it, in a street fight that evokes "West Side Story," as we're reminded via the voiceover that your delicates and regulars have never gotten on. Shirts, pants and dresses all take part in some beautifully choreographed dance/fight sequences, before all the clothing falls in a heap and we're taken back to reality, with a woman loading the clothes into the two separate tubs.

MJZ's Carl Erik Rinsch helmed the spot; according to creative agency Hill Holliday, the production took four months, and involved CGI, motion capture and digital renders, with dancers and stunt actors performing the laundry battle. Digital Domain was responsible for the special effects.
