LG is targeting plane passengers using smartphones on Norwegian Air's wi-fi system to promote its longer battery life with a series of clever banner ads. As with LG's Smartbanners drive which launched last year, M&C Saatchi Stockholm created the targeted banner ads to appear on the phones of iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and HTC users. They appeared when people with the competitor phones were using in-flight wifi via Norwegian Air long haul flights, but without a charger nearby. The ads call out the competitors' battery performance, attempting to convince them to switch to the G3, because of its much longer battery life.
