Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey brings more contemplative moments to Lincoln's marketing story in the automaker's new ads promoting the Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The spots pick up where the initial McConaughey-fronted spots for the MKC left off. Once again, they capture the actor reflecting on the various features of the automobiles -- this time, at a diner in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles and at L.A.'s Griffith Park.
Features director Nicolas Winding Refn ("Drive") returned to helm the latest spots, created by Hudson Rouge. Mr. McConaughey also collaborated on the creation of the campaign.
"If I can be authentic, and the spots are authentic, then we are sending the same message," Mr. McConaughey said in a statement. "And I think we're doing that in this series of Lincoln ads."
"The overwhelming response to the MKC campaign sparked truly great awareness for Lincoln," Lincoln Group Marketing Manager Andrew Frick added in the statement. "Matthew's natural storytelling ability perfectly complements the Lincoln story as we continue to raise awareness and drive conversation in creative and unexpected ways."
