Little Black Book: LBB Recommends One Laptop Per Child

The publisher of guide books and online city directories for ad folks got Taxi's Paul Lavoie, Y&R's Tony Granger, DDB's Bob Scarpelli and John Hegarty of BBH to help promote its new campaign to raise money for One Laptop Per Child.

Using its model of curating recommendations from within the advertising community, LBB has pledged to donate £1 for every new recommednation, up to £20,000.

"Last year, Paul Lavoie had showed me a spot Taxi had done for OLPC and I was just very enthused by it," says LBB founder mMatt Cooper. "I think it’s a charity that fits the advertising industry quite well, and to be honest, just wanted to find a way to help out. We’re also getting separate donations from people so we’ll hopefully have more than our set £20,000 goal. We’re talking to (OLPC) now about various situations and the best way to spend the money."
