How does a small indie nut company get itself some attention in world crowded with big brands? Answer: tackling the very serious topic of nut allergies with some outrageous humor.
The idea behind this ad for Living Nutz is that they're so delicious, even people with nut allergies would eat them. Cue several endorsements from people with ridiculously swollen faces, one even injecting himself with an epi-pen as he gorges on the nuts.
Directed by Brad Lubin and written by Howie Ronay ( Kmart "Ship My Pants"), it's running on Living Nutz's YouTube page and is almost certain to outrage people for whom nut allergies are no joke. So is it funny -- or grossly insensitive? Let us know in the comments below.
