Over a period of 48 hours, writers, editors and creative people of all stripes came together online to write, shoot and create "Issue Two" of Longshot Magazine, along the theme of debt: Something we all grapple with. The point? To show that owing money may be painful, but its something we all go through as human beings.

This is the third issue of the magazine (Issue Zero also exists), which was formerly known as "48 Hour Magazine." The theme of Issue One was "Comeback" and Issue Zero was centered around "Hustle."

On July 29, editors of Longshot Magazine unveiled the latest theme and along with it, five challenges that contributors had to get through. Challenges included answering the question "I owe [blank] for [blank]", admitting how much debt you have, taking portraits, illustrating your debt via a map and paying off your debt and writing about it.

Then, editors, who include Alexis Madrigal of the Atlantic and Mathew Honan of Gizmodo fact-checked and edited the pieces. On July 31, the finished product was launched.

The magazine project has been received positively in the past, receiving a Knight-Batten award from J-Labs and a rave review from PBS.
