Somewhere in the world Dr. Seuss is twitching in his grave as Lowe's and agency BBDO New York have created their very own take on the "Cat in the Hat." Sort of. As a follow up to their NCAA March Madness "Build Your Home Improvement Confidence" campaign, the home improvement retailer has, well, expanded its product offerings.
Here it promotes a high-tech and highly fashionable line of glow-in-the-dark cat hats to help you find your missing feline friend in the dark. The ad provides all of the hilarity of a real late night infomercial -- from the unrealistic voiceover and sketchy production values to the actors' forced enthusiam and exaggerated movements -- and is supported by a just-useless-enough website that's straight out of 1994. You may very well find yourself picking up the phone, because a great find like this is available, of course, "for a limited time only."
