Lucasfilm should really be legally required to give economists advance warning that it's going to release a new "Star Wars" trailer. Because we can't help but wonder what sort of dent the surprise arrival of a teaser trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will do to worker productivity across the world.
Not only will millions watch it again and again -- at work and at home (but mostly at work) -- but entertainment writers and superfans will have no choice but to drop everything so they can obsessively deconstruct the 100-second video. And then, of course, everyone else will have to read and debate those deconstructions.
To help you get started, a few we've spotted so far: "Every Cool Detail We Spotted in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer" (Gizmodo), "'Rogue One' Trailer Breakdown: Our Star Wars Nerd Explains It All" (The Wrap), "Star Wars Rogue One Trailer Has An Amusing Secret" (Forbes) and "What We Learned From the Star Wars: Rogue One Trailer" (Vulture).
The Gareth Edwards-directed "Rogue One," as you almost certainly already know, stars Felicity Jones and is set to open Dec. 16.
