A car crash is beautifully depicted in this ad for MAC, South Australian's Motor Accident Commission. The photo, which appeared as a billboard and online, was shot by painter Emma Hack, via agency Clemenger BBDO. It features 17 real bodies, contorting a la Pilobilus, to show the effects of a car crash. See how the ad was made here.
The body painting trend, while done many times before, seems to be regaining popularity in the ad world. Camouflaging, especially, done in the style of artist Liu Bolin, was seen in a commercial for Sprite, out of BBH, while nude flight attendants with painted bodies were the centerpiece of an innovative Air New Zealand inflight safety demo video too.
