Last year, U.K. sandwich spread brand Marmite caused a bit of controversy with a documentary spot illustrating the plight of neglected Marmite jars, created by Adam & Eve/DDB London. Viewers complained that it made light of the real suffering of forgotten pets and the honorable work done by genuine animal rescuers.
This teaser ad continues the saga of the jars pushed to the back of the cupboards and predicts a "full-scale Marmageddon." It's the run-up to a documentary ad debuting in a week, which will promote an end to Marmite neglect and show the rescue, and re-homing, of Marmite containers, along with the tag "Love it. Hate it. Just don't forget it."
