At #7 in Interactive/Integrated/Social, McDonald's stood out from the World Cup fray by using french fries to create great moments from the tournament. The clips were created overnight and were part of the brand's larger "GOL!" campaign.
If you're sick of all the more traditional World Cup ads, you can get a different take on the tournament thanks to McDonald's, which is re-enacting all of the key matches on YouTube -- with french fries. The short clips, created on an overnight turnaround with the help of Facebook's creative team and VFX experts Framestore, can be seen on a special YouTube stream entitled "FryFutbol." The activity is linked to McDonald's wider "GOL!" campaign, which includes an Augmented Reality app, redesigned packaging and a global TV spot.
