Yesterday, Taco Bell launched what its calling the biggest ever campaign in its marketing history with a spot for its breakfast products featuring real people named Ronald McDonald who love eating tacos with maple syrup wrapped in waffles (or whatever Taco Bell breakfast is.)
McDonald's isn't taking that one lying down. This morning, it said it would be offering free coffee in its restaurants for two weeks, and then began a social media blitz aimed squarely at Taco Bell. "Mayor McCheese" confirmed on Twitter that Ronald still loves McDonald's, while on Facebook, Ronnie petted the long-dead Taco Bell Chihuahua, along with a caption that said "Imitation is the Best Form of Flattery."
