Yesterday, Ad Age (via our sister pub Crain's Chicago Business) reported that Ronald McDonald was getting a new look. With the help of Tony-awarded costume designer Ann Hould-Ward, who created the threads for Broadway shows including "Beauty and the Beast" and "Into the Woods," the Golden Arches' main clown will be ditching his bright yellow jumpsuit for a couple new outfits.

The more casual look consists of separates -- a bright yellow vest, pants and striped shirt. He also has dressier attire consisting of a bright red embroidered jacket and bow tie.

Ronald's new duds will be part of the marketer's upcoming push to make Ronald a more visible spokesperson for the brand on social media channels, part of an effort McD's is calling "Fun makes great things happen."

Today, McDonald released this video to further show off Ronald's updated look.
